Sports Round-up

It was a great weekend, one to cherish for me, as far as sporting events are concerned.

Yup, I’ve just got to put it down on a record. Arsenal beat the daylight out of their bitter poophead rivals Tottenham Hotscum 3-1 on Saturday. And the best part was, it was a job well done at their (Spurs) own backyard. White Hart Lane is the other part of North London a.k.a the dumpsite of the Londoners. Its always sweet to beat the shit out of them.

On the local front today, our number one shuttler Lee Chong Wei showed his class by thumping Indon ace Taufik Hidayat in a nail-biting match that went right down to rubber game when Lee could have wrapped up the 2nd if not for his numerous mistakes. He had led by 6 at one point. It was a relieve to see him taking the final set to clinch the Men’s Single’s Japan Open title.

And to top it all off, Ferrari triumphed at Spa-Francochamp circuit by finishing 1-2 earlier tonight to the delight of Tifosis around the world, including yours truly.

So anyway, Those Spurs scum can eat my shit. Taufik, better luck next time and Hamilton, how about making a switch to Red Scarlet?

That’s all for today’s first and most probably the last sports round-up you’ll ever get to read here. I felt like writing something and I’ve got it done.

Akhir sekali, majulah sukan untuk aku.

Kita kembali ke studio bersama Hj. Hasbullah Awang.

Great Sports Round-Up 'bro.. truly enjoyed your take.

Err.. bro' please laa be a bit more charitable (in the spirit of Ramadhan -ha!) to Spurs. When I was in primary school, bro', which was in the late 60s and very early 70s, I got turned on to football because of Spurs. I was always the goalie in the neighborhood team and looked up to my then hero Pat Jennings...

Then as I grew up I abandoned WH Lane for Arse and Gunners. Funny, I never was much into MAN U(RE)...

F-1, I'm rootin' for LH. I just don't think KR or FM or FA are cool winners.... They can win, but they just ain't cool. Just my opinion, bro'...

Bg Mat,

Ok la bro, I’ll be more charitable for Jol’s sake. His players were just star-struck and awed by Cesc’s master strokes and passes…hahaha…

Eh seriously, I thought Pat Jennings was an Arsenal keeper? Or maybe he did a sol Campbell by switching to the better side of north London back then?

So anyway, the post-raya get-together that u were talking abt with kak dalilah, lets make it happen. I am so totally IN bro.

Dee,

Sorry babe. I don’t mind much the blues but NEVER the whites of spurs. I’m cherishing this moment for being on top where we deservedly belong.

Don’t worry, season masih muda.

Selamat berpuasa to u too, dee. And Din!

Bro shah,

Aiseh…ur comment is very mind-boggling la bro. its like there’s a message beyond it. r u tryin to tell me something ke bro? pagi ni saya lembab sikit la..hahaha…

Thanks, nonetheless. A joy for Ferrari!

The EPL is 6 games old for some and 5 for the current leaders. Its's getting to be nail-biting already. After 3 games everybody was writing Man U off, a very big mistake indeed. Only teams with substance will make it and I sense this year it will be a struggle between Man Utd, Arsenal and the bastards Liv.

Please la Kerp, you were doing so well and then you go and spoil it all by mentioning Hasbullah. Hasbullah? Come on let me tell you something, during 1 sea games many-many years ago the idiot was commenting on a ping pong game and when the score was 20-20 he said, " sekarang deuce 5, ha, deuce 5 ka 3? What a load of shit.

hahahhaha...u r wrong la cikgu. i was mocking him up, and taking a dig at RTM in general. this fella likes to over-dramatise in all his commentaries, which is an easy target for anyone to ridicule him. i'm not asking for a martin tyler but its high time we need new football commentators.

i hv to admit it too, them scousers look strong, esp with torres around and at this very young stage, its ridiculous to rule out any teams. u left chelsea out. thats a brave statement to make.

Salam kerp:

idup Hasbullah! Idup hasbullah.
Agi idup agi ngelabah hasbullah.

The main reason aku tak tengok rancangan sukan Malaysia adalah kerana Hasbullah ni...sentiasa memotong stim penonton.

Kerp, hang tak tengok Rugby world cup ka?

PJ,

hey, i'm sure u know a lttle bit abt sports. i mean, beckham is B.I.G in california.

anyway, i had asam pedas for buka last night. i know i know..i'm such a good teaser...hahaha..

doc,

when zainal abidin rawop first joined rtm, they had a fresher outlook to the whole sport presentation but now even zainal has turned hasbullah!

saya layan gak la the on-going rugby world cup but i dont hv any particular team tht i root for. maybe france, they've got that sasquatch-looking fella, sebastian chabal leading their attack.

When I was in school, I played football as goalkeeper for a while but there were too many football players so I became a spectator instead.

I did represent my house once, only once, in hockey. I loved rugby then and use to follow the team everywhere. Again I wasn't good enough to make the cut. I did play some competitive inter-house cricket. I did play badminton until all the lousy players improved and started beating me. I played sepak takraw but was too heavy to lipat.

I did represent Pasir Puteh in the shot putt in the Kejohanan Olahraga Amatur Kelantan in the 70s and did not get into the finals. Ys, thats me, a Jack of Many trades but master of none.

wahh, cikgu...

pukul keliling nampak..hahha..

i wonder what happened to our national cricketeers. i mean, back then it was big, but nowdays its a rare sight.

my dad used to represent the kilat club back in the 60s. saya plak sampai skrang ni hapah tak tau anything abt the game.
